How will I be travelling to Tijuana? Where will I stay?
You will be travelling to Tijuana through San Diego airport. We will be taking you to Mexico by valet and from San Diego, you will be checked into the Hotel Camino Real Inn. All restaurants, the hospital, and the hotel have bottled water.
After surgery, you’ll stay in the hospital for as long as necessary, then you’ll be taken to the hotel. The hotel has a special broth for the post-op liquid diet.
How long will weight loss surgery take to recover from?
Weight loss surgery is an inpatient procedure and you’ll be in the hospital for a couple of days. You will need at least 2 weeks away from work to recover. During recovery, you will not be able to eat the same foods you were eating before: you’ll have to stick to a post-op diet.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
The weight you lose will depend highly on your adherence to the post-op diet and how heavy you were to start with. It’s not unusual to see up to 85% of exceed body weight lost: for example, if a patient was 100 pounds overweight, they may lose up to 85 pounds as a result of the surgery.
What will I eat after weight loss surgery?
After your surgery, you will be on a postoperative diet that will last 10 weeks. This diet consists of different types of consistencies such as liquid, purees, soft foods, and finally a Normal Bariatric Diet. It is important to emphasize that each patient is different, so you will have the accompaniment of a certified nutritionist who will be guiding you on which foods are ideal for you, within your bariatric process.
